- What is the pickup process at the airport?
At all airports the driver will be waiting for you outside the terminal building doors. Drivers are not permitted by airport authorities to enter the terminal building. The driver will be holding a sign with your name on it and identifying he is an Avanti driver.
The driver will be dressed according to the service, client request and season. Normally the driver will be in dark pants and long sleeve white shirt
Airport authorities do not allow passenger pick up at the curb, all vehicles must be parked in the parking lot. The driver will help you with our luggage and escort you to the vehicle.
Avanti tracks your flight and the driver arrives within 5 to 10 minutes ahead of your flight. Depending on the airport, the time of day and passenger traffic it make take between 15 and 30 minutes for you to clear immigration and customs.
- How do I make a reservation?
Reservations can be made using our online form or you can call us at our toll free number 888-721-8053 from anywhere in the United States or Canada or at + 506 8399 9642 from other countries or 8399 9642 from anywhere in Costa Rica.
- How early do I need to make a reservation
The earlier the better. A couple of hours of prior notice for airport pickups is recommended and at 24 hours for all other services. However, last minute requests can be accommodated depending upon the availability. For weddings, tours, and other special events please reserve you limousine as soon as possible.
- What are the other fees that you charge for?
We do not have any hidden charges. All our fees include all taxes, tolls and parking fees. Our fees do not, however, include gratuities for the driver.
- What happens if I have excessive or oversized luggage?
In the event that you have excessive or oversized luggage cannot be accommodated in the trunk of the vehicle (like in the limousine which are not made with big trunk spaces), there will be an additional charge for the hiring of additional transport for the luggage.
- Can I smoke in the vehicle?
No. Absolutely not. All our vehicles are smoke-free.
- When do I pay for the service and what payment method do you accept?
All services are paid in advance unless prior arrangement has been made. In some cases we require a deposit to hold the reservation and the balance can be paid at the start of the service.
We accept payments by all credit cards by way of www.paypal.com, paypal payments, wire transfers and cash. FOR YOUR SECURITY WE DO NOT HANDLE THE CREDIT CARD INFO
- What if my flight is delayed?
At Avanti we always track the incoming flight and adjust our arrival at the airport accordingly. Our service is exclusive and do not double book, thus a later arrival will not mean losing your transfer. Never.
If you know you will be arriving late or miss your flight we ask that you call us to let us know and reschedule.
- Does the driver speak English?
YES, all our drivers are native English speaking. In fact, most of our drivers are North Americans and Europeans with extensive driving experience inside and outside of Costa Rica. Our drivers also are fluent in Spanish. Drivers with other languages can be arranged as well.
- Are the vehicles insured and to what amount?
All our vehicles carry fully insurance to the maximum provided by Costa Rica's state insurer, the Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS).
